Nice spot food was absolutely great BBQ place was a little bit dated and worn down is all, not huge deal but noticeable a little facelift would go a long way. I would go back

Overrated 

Iberostar Costa Dorado is lovely with great vibes!
I was an overnight guest with a room at the Iberostar Costa Dorada, but wanted to buy 7 Daypasses as gifts for my local family to join us for the day.  Unfortunately the resportpass.com system doesn't allow you to manage the guest list so that the account holder is not one of the actual guests.  I read all the fine print and then followed up by emailing customer service with the updated guest list before traveling.  In my first response from customer service, it was obvious they didn't read my email because they just sent me back to the manage guest list system that couldn't accommodate my needs. After my  second email to customer service, they didn't respond until 2-3 hours after my check in time.
The Iberostar employees at first could not check in our guests due to the guest list being incorrect  One clever employee suggested I change my name in my resortpass account to my cousin's name and that finally worked.

Difficult to Gift Daypasses!  

Pretty grounds and pool. We purchased a day pass while off the cruise.

Simply Splendid

This resort is very outdated and honestly not a nice resort. The ponds and water features on the property had greenish/brown water and were filled with debris. The cushions on all the sitting areas in the lobby were quite old and many had stains on them. The staff wasn't welcoming or overly friendly and if you go to the beach there is a constant barrage of locals asking you to buy something. Our group was very disappointed with our experience and would not recommend this resort. 

Outdated and Dirty

I booked a poolside cabana which included a day pass for two. Upon arrival we waited 30 minutes for check in. When I asked about my cabana I was told to inquire at the towel stand. The attendant at the towel stand could not find my reservation so we then waited another 30 minutes only to be offered a lounge chair inside the spa. I explained a chair inside the spa was not what I reserved. My spouse at this time found two loungers in the shade so we lounged in the shade for our remaining two hours left. Upon trying to contact ResortPass I was left with no recourse because online chat was not available. With no direct phone number to reach a representative we sent multiple emails only to receive standard replies of Resort pass would reply in two to three business days. No help resolving the issue while we were at the resort! We are still waiting on a reply. We are owed a refund for the resorts failure to honor our reservation. Still no reply to rectify the situation from Resort Pass. 

Booking Not Honored: Buyer Beware!

Beautiful resort, sucks it was cloudy but it was a great property. Drinks were a bit water down but it was okay. Food was decent. The size of the property was great, we had a good time. Enjoyed the pool bar! 

Amazing time! 

Puerto Plata is quite touristy. If you just want to get off the ship for a day and hit a beach, drink cold beer and blender drinks and be fed, this is a good option. 7 of us found wed all bought day passes. We shared a return cab van. Use the official green jacket guys. They were honest. The resort has a nice beach with plenty of shade umbrellas and structures. A large clean pool and cold beer. Friendly staff. No issues checking in. No one trying to sell you plastic souvenirs. Not ultimate luxury (the food and drinks are pedestrian, but adequate). It made for a relaxing day off ship and good value compared to the ship sponsored tours.  

Great alternative for a cruise ship day visit

We loved visiting the resort. The lunch buffet was very nice.  The drinks were included. Pool bar was nice.
