This hotel and rooftop is in a great location and the hotel is really well done. The rooftop space and pool/cabanas are small and intimate. Unfortunately, their wifi was not working and neither were their TVs in our cabanas. That was a miss. Staff was friendly provided good service. We went on a Friday afternoon and it seemed like they should've had more staff working, the bartender was doing it all. Would consider going back if these improvements were made. If you are looking for a chill lounge environment, this would be a nice downtown option.

I wish the descriptions clearly mentioned when food and drinks were available. I went on a  very warm Thursday expecting a relaxing day by the pool but there were no food or drinks available M-Th so I spent the day hungry and thirsty. 
The pool is very small but that means the water is not cold. I did appreciate the music and the lounge chairs are comfortable enough. Lots of towels, so that was also great.  Had food and alcohol been available it would’ve been a great day. Instead, it was just OK.

Beautiful pool area overlooking downtown! Everything was very clean and staff was friendly! Will def come back!

Relaxing day 

Large rooftop deck area. Very clean. We went on a Monday and it was quiet. The bar is currently open only on weekends but we were able to bring our own food & drinks in. Would recommend.  I’ll book another staycation here again soon.

Their food and drinks are amazing. Views are also stunning.  With that being said, their pool is very small, with a small amount of lounge chairs and no hot tub.

Everything was great

We came into town to enjoy some MLB between the Padres and the SF Giants. Unfortunately, we chose a hotel in the Gas Lamp District that had a roof-top bar instead of a pool. Using ResortPass we found that the Andaz had cabana's available on their roof-top so we booked one for the day and walked down the street. What a blast....the Andaz is a cool hotel that has a great roof-top experience. The pool is a rectangle and kind of on the small side, but the crowd makes it very fun. The cabanas are located around the pool and come wonderfully furnished with large TV's, comfortable sofa-couches, refrigerator, etc. It was perfect! The service we received was outstanding, and the quality of the food & drinks was top notch. We enjoyed it so much that we booked it for a second day!
If you find yourself in San Diego in the Gas Lamp area and you want to spend a fun day around the pool, head for the Andaz, its a great location, people, food and fun.

Fun In The Sun

We had a great time at the pool, and the service was great. We did not know there was a spa to use, so it would have been helpful to know about that. The cabana really made the weekend for our bachelorette party.
