6 of the Best Destinations for Spring Break

Let’s face it, we all need a break every now and then. What better time for you and the family to enjoy a well-earned getaway than during Spring Break? A spring break vacation isn’t just for college students. It is the perfect time of year for everyone to let loose.

Today, we’ve compiled a list of six of the best family-friendly spring break destinations, ranging from all-inclusive resorts with beautiful beaches to colorful water parks located near famous theme parks.

1. Omni Orlando Resort

The Omni Orlando Resort, located in serene Championsgate, Florida, is a spring break hot spot because of its warm weather, sandy beaches, and outdoor activities

Separating itself from other Orlando resorts, the Omni is the only hotel in the area to feature its own wave pool measuring at 7,338 square feet. To help keep the kiddos safe as they play in the 131,000 gallons of water, there are inner tubes and life jackets available.

Aside from the wave pool, the Omni also has a family pool that allows you to submerge into the water without taking any stairs the same way you would enter the ocean! This pool features a thrilling 125-foot corkscrew waterslide.

Younger guests can skip the waterslide and play at the liquid playground instead. This spot features a 30-foot spilling water tower and dancing water fountains. They can also play in the kid’s pool and go down the tiny water slides made with children in mind.

If you’re looking to slow things down, take a sleepy ride down the lazy river, play a calming game of golf on the Champions 9, Par 3 Golf Experience, or pay a visit to the Mokara Spa and receive a relaxing treatment sure to soothe your mind and body.

2. Aqua Nick Waterpark

The Aqua Nick is located in one of Mexico’s most idyllic vacation destinations, the Riviera Maya which is just south of another popular spring break destination, Cancun. Surrounded by picturesque tropical gardens, the Aqua Nick Waterpark Riviera Maya is the first to be built in all of North America.

This 500-meter water park is Nickelodeon-themed, making it especially suited for family fun! Your family can play on the multi-leveled water playground, Bikini Bottom Beach. Surrounded by characters from the popular Spongebob Squarepants cartoon, you and your family will splash and play amongst water jets, water guns, and tipping buckets.

For more organized fun, check out the Activity Pool. This spot features scheduled water activities for the entire family to enjoy and play together. Between activities, get adventurous on the floating pads and climbing wall.

After going down the resort’s 21 different waterslides, it might be time to chill out. Take a break on the 1100-foot-long Lazy River, riding past fun water features and themed sculptures.

Don’t forget to catch the resort’s live entertainment, Nick Live! Poolside. This show pulls contestants from the audience to compete in fun games. Winners receive the most coveted prize of all, a chance at getting slimed!

3. Tidal Cove Waterpark

The Tidal Cove Waterpark is located at the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in sunny Miami, Florida. With a 60-foot tower featuring seven different water slides, this park provides endless fun to last your entire spring break trip

One of the most popular attractions at the water park is the first-ever FlowRider Triple in the nation. This surf simulator creates waves up to 40’ wide and can accommodate up to three riders at once. Try riding for the first time, or show off your skills like a pro.

Perhaps the most daring attraction is the Aqua Drop slide. The bravest guests drop through a trap door and experience a free fall down a near-vertical drop and through the 360-degree loop at high speeds.

Children can play in the Kids Cove, a space built just for them! This Emoji-themed 4,000-square-foot aquatic playscape features a pool, water activities, and an ice cream-shaped tipping bucket.

Soak up that South Florida sun and take a break in the Lazy River, Laguna Pool, or Oasis Pool. All three spots are surrounded by a colorful, tropical landscape and provide space for families to cool off.

4. Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort & Spa

The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort & Spa is a beautiful property nestled on Nukolii Beach. What better way to spend your Spring Break than indulging in some Hawaiian hospitality surrounded by some of the most beautiful beaches Americans have to offer?

At the picturesque resort, the whole family can take a swim in one of the four refreshing pools, play beneath the lava rock waterfall, and go down the waterslide. Guests hoping to keep up with their workout regime while on vacation are welcome to utilize the fitness center or attend a Beachfront Sunrise Yoga class at 7 a.m. on the Ocean Lawn.

For even more self-care, the Hawaiian Rainforest Spa provides you with the opportunity to restore and rebalance your body and mind. This peaceful haven’s mission is to respect the land upon which it sits and to incorporate Kauai’s indigenous botanical treatments.

The Outrigger also offers loads of opportunities to see live entertainment. Every Friday at 4 p.m., you can see live music and hula dancing by the pool. Every evening at the Shutters Lounge, you can hear some of Hawaii’s best musicians.

Want to get in on the island action? Sign up for a complimentary lei-making class where you will learn to string together a fresh lei, hula lessons where you will learn the meaning behind the historic style of dance, and ukulele lessons where you will learn to play a song on the iconic Hawaiian instrument.

5. Cambria Hotel Anaheim Resort

The Cambria Hotel, located in Anaheim, California near the Disney Resort, is an ideal spot for an action-packed vacation with the whole family! Go west to this top Spring Break destination and get ready for sunny days and exciting nightlife.

The Cambria features a hot tub and outdoor heated pool set to 88 degrees Fahrenheit for peak relaxation. There is also a children’s pool with shallow entry and lots of surrounding seating, making it both fun and safe for the littlest guests.

When you’re ready for some more adventure, you can visit the 30,000 square foot water park. This park is fully equipped with water slides, splash pads, pop-up jets, and lots of space for the entire family to run and play.

In addition to the water park, families can go head-to-head on the putting green or the basketball court. There is also an outdoor movie wall that plays family-friendly flicks throughout the day, sure to keep the kiddos entertained for hours on end. You can lounge on a pool chaise or watch from the swimming pool.

After a long day of fun, get cozy and wind down around one of the fire pits located throughout the outdoor patio. Parents can grab a cocktail from the Splash Lounge as they relax and catch up on the day.

6. Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau

The Margaritaville Beach Resort is located in the glorious Bahamas on Nassau. Nassau is a popular spring break travel destination for guests of all ages thanks to the warm weather, crystal clear waters, and white sand beaches.

The Bahamas is famous for having some of the best beaches in the world. At Margaritaville, you will have the opportunity to experience this first hand with private beach access. There are also beach water sport equipment rentals. Take your spring break vacation to the next level and go kayaking or snorkeling.

Back at the resort, families can have fun at the Fins Up Water Park. This water park includes a 10-foot diving board, a soothing lazy river, rock climbing wall, a FlowRider boogie board simulator, and four water slides. There are both large slides and kiddie slides for smaller guests.

Another hot spot at the resort for the whole family to enjoy is the Icons Sports Bar and Entertainment Complex. This entertainment complex includes virtual-reality sports, billiards, bowling, karaoke, and a private movie theater.

While parents pay a visit to the St. Somewhere Spa, where they can take a break from the warm weather and enjoy a variety of massages and skin treatments, kids between the ages of five and nine can hang out at the Parakeets Kid’s Club, where they are led by a staff of trained counselors through fun activities like pool games, arts, and crafts.
