This experience was easy and great for a simple day trip with both a beach and pool access. 

Relaxing experience

The massage was so good, and their hot and cold Jacuzzi was great!  We enjoyed the pool area a lot with bar to order drinks and food. Nice and picturest place to enjoy a relaxing day.  It was a bit windy, buy its okay because of the hot weather it cooled us down.  The beach was also unattractive in the morning because of low tide, but about 3/4pm the water started to come back.  Overall, it was a very nice place to spend the day!

We had 12 hours to kill before a flight and this worked great.

Great way to spend the day

The hotel is massive and moderately well kept, surprising poor for such a well-named chain.  There was a group of people playing loud music from their boom box and it seemed that that was allowed.  Very disturbing while trying to rest at poolside.  The "beach" is not a beach-beach at all, but just a little stretch of sand and that was the most disappointing for me.   The spa was the best part of the day.  Only two of the three pools inside the spa were operational.  The massage I had was the best!!

Checkin could have gone a little smoother but she ended up taking care of us. We really enjoyed the lunch buffet. The food was delicious, drinks were amazing and the staff outstanding. The pool area left much to be desired. It didn't appear the grounds were kept up. The towel person was sleeping. There wasn't a groundskeeper around collecting old towels and empty cups from earlier that were laying around. The pool was cloudy and the pool on the other side was closed off. Also, the bar staff told us that only one brand of beer and tequila sunrise were allowed for us day pass holders. That was not made clear in the booking and was very disappointing. Im still not sure if what he said was accurate because we did not have that issue inside. We never saw the snack area and our time spent there was about 2 1/2 hours. Aside from the hotel, ResortPass customer service was excellent. I needed some help with my booking the day before and it was taken care of without any issues and so politely. 

Relaxing experience 

I think out of the options of day passes here in PTY, this one is probably the best.  Pools are nice sized but there were some plastic cups floating in the pool (no cleaning staff in sight), plenty of areas in the shade and the sun. I didn't bother with the drinks because these resorts tend to have crappy ones but Im also not a big drinker. The restaurant upstairs was nice, plenty of options and enjoyed the salads. Theres a snack bar restaurant by the pool which some people seem to have confused as the only included option (its not).

Check in was great.
A pool was closed for maintenance.  Others were opened. 
Swim up bar pool was closed, certain foods were only available in the snack area. Lunch was mediocre. 95% of the staff treated us differently with the pass band. Certain drinks were included with the pass. I can say out of all my travel and experience with all inclusive ones...this was the complete opposite. NOT WORTH THE MONEY.



I've been to better.

If you're looking for a resort type of experience, I recommend a day pass at the Westin. Five hours is the perfect amount of time to lay out in the sun, etc, and drink. What's great is that it's only about 25 minutes from Panama City, so it's a quick getaway. 

One thing I do want to point out is if you're looking for a beach beach (I think you know what I mean), this is not it (and this is through no fault of the hotel which is why I still gave it 5 stars). It's funny that it's called Playa Bonita because it's definitely not 'Bonita' but The Westin offers a relaxing and chill atmosphere and the service was solid. Would come back again for a day pass the next time I am in Panama
