The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota

We booked a cabana for the day and were so disappointed that the privacy curtains had broken zippers and the staff tried to use bulldog clips to close 2 sides to block the sun for our kids. The clips on one side wouldn't stay on and after about 10 attempts, I just gave up. The tv in the cabanas don't work, the refrigerator is rusty and their towel station was out of towels for several hours before anyone bothered to restock. We live in the area and have our own pool at home but had hoped to enjoy a restful day away in an upscale location but were very disappointed.

The pool area and bathrooms were not clean and certainly not what we expected from the nicest hotel in the area. We have used Resort Pass many times and wish we had gone to Art Ovation or The Hyatt Regency again because they are FAR superior for WAY less money.

Beautiful area but does need some sprucing up. Lunch at Jack Dustys was very good and gave us complimentary valet parking which saved $25

We had an amazing day poolside at the cabana.   Cara our server was outstanding 
Very attentive, lunch was delicious and the drinks were plentiful

Cabana 

The outdoor pool is covered by the hotel high rise blocking the sun in the winter until about 1:30 or 2 pm. So don't plan on sunbathing until after lunch. We were not given access to the hotel gym or showers. There is a pool bathroom but no changing area. Jacuzzi jets were broken.

All shade no sun

Let me start by saying that overall, our visit was good. Vibe was exactly what we wanted, it was relaxing, clean, staff was friendly, food and drinks were good. But in the end, I would say the price wasnt worth it. 

My pregnant wife and I rented a cabana for a relaxing daycation, but none of the attending staff seemed to know or have anything really prepared. They had to ask several times for my confirmation. Good food and drinks that were a bit overpriced but hey, its the Ritz. Most of the deck is shaded until about 2 oclock because of the layout which is another bummer if youre looking to do an all day thing.

Again, the experience was fine. I just think for the price there are probably similarly as good of experiences for much less.

It was a cold day so this could have affected it but definitely not worth $350 for a cabana at the pool. It would be worth it if it was at the beach club. 

Not the beach club!

I was so glad I decided to do a day pass, Parking was easy, and I did Valet.  I was a little disappointed at the front desk; I went to 'check in' to show my id; the young lady didn't even look at my pass or id, but she offered water and said the pool is below press P.  I just said OK.  I started walking around looking for the spa; They called me to help schedule a time; online was booked; I called and left a message, the day before and  Sergio called me that day and was truly the hero of the Ritz, I found the spa and Sergio remembered me from the phone call; and he personally showed me where I could eat and to the pool.  I spent time by the pool and then went back to the spa for my scheduled time.  Good massage and then went back to the pool, to hang out, I had the best Mahi Mahi sandwich,you have to try it.  The day was great.  Stayed until sundown.  I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the pampered experience, as I do!!
