Green Iguana Conservation Project

Located on-site, visitors of all ages are given the opportunity to interact with Green Iguanas and learn about the incubation, hatching, rearing, and releasing process.

Strap on your headlight and take a night hike adventure for a chance to see the critters of the night and other animals such as leaf cutter ants, wolf spiders, orb waver spiders, cicadas, scorpions, tarantulas, opossums, owls, and maybe a lucky sighting of the sly Kinkajou or Gray Fox!
While exploring the trails, you also travel back in time as you witness an authentic Maya chultun located right within the property.

Found within a 17-acre private estate, San Ignacio Resort Hotel offers a playground for bird lovers. Take a stroll with the experienced guide through the jungle and enjoy the sweet sounds of backyard friends. During this tour, you can witness colorful creatures including the Blue Tanager, Blue-crowned Mot Mot, Warblers, Woodpeckers, Aracari Toucan, and even rare sightings of the National Bird, the Keelbilled Toucan. Known as “the only jungle in town”, this property has been able to document a record of 119 species.
