I arrived and settled in at the pool at 8:00am. The "pool man" was tending to the Spa. He cleaned, drained & refilled. He put several chairs in front of the steps to prevent visitors using it until it heated back up. Well, this was ignored by adults & children. I was lounging close and found my self being "pool monitor". I even called the front desk to find out when it would open so I could relay this to visitors. Their were 2 kids with giant toy water guns squirting them all around the concrete & from spa to pool and back. Parents were encouraging them. Also there were 5 under age 18 teens "horsing around" for hours with no adult in site. Lastly two adults and 2 kids were seated around the spa (not in) playing music with their speaker. Their children were throwing a floating small football in and around the pool. It bounced into and me several times. I said something & they said for me to report them. I read the pool rules that came with my reservation.

Nice Pool - misbehaved visitors

This was my first time using resort pass, and I cant wait to use it again! Booking and checking in was a breeze, even for a first time user. The building itself is absolutely gorgeous and the pool was lovely and well maintained and not overcrowded at all. I especially loved the towels and the giant palm trees all around. I live in Santa Cruz and despite living on the beach, see the sun infrequently enough that I wanted to go to San Jose to bask in the heat! The location is unexpected but it does not disappoint! What an oasis!  Cannot wait to go back!

Pros: location is beautiful! Friendly staff and towels stayed stocked. Pool size and temp were good.  Free parking + water bottle at check in was nice. :)

Cons: there is no food/drink service pool side, and restaurant is closed 2-4p which seems like prime pool time. I would avoid the hot tub- it had a foamy layer of sunscreen and other unpleasant goodies floating around. Limited chairs, go early or on a quiet day. 



Beautiful location OK pool 

It was a lot of fun, very nice place, clean, elegant and fun. Suitable for spending time with the family by the pool and very presentable for photos, videos, great events, everything will be very elegant due to its beautiful view and appearance of the hotel. For the rest I recommend it with closed eyes  

Excellent place, very nice and cozy hotel 

Bought a day pass for the middle of the week on a really hott day.  There was only like 4 other people there, So it was nice and quiet.  Having a restaurant right next to the pool, was an added bonus. Pool temp was  warm/cool, and towels were provided. 

Nice pool and surroundings

We really enjoyed our day at the pool - the pool is deep in the middle and shallower at the edges. We were one of only 3-4 other couples swimming and we had easy access to chairs. The spa was nice and the staff was attentive - they checked the temperature and made sure it was heated well. The only opportunity was food - the on site restaurant closes after lunch around 2. We didnt eat there but brought water bottles. 

Easy setup, clean, historic hotel.

We bought the last two passes of the day, yet the pool was still uncrowned quiet and calm. The mansion was absolutely beautiful and clean, and the food was great

Beautiful, Quiet, Serene

The community I live in was constructing their jacuzzi,  so I took my 4-year-old brother to The Hays Mansion to use the pool and jacuzzi. Our experience was super amazing! Candice and Ariana made my friend's, my brother's, and my experience an excellent one. The only thing we didn't like were the burned kid cheeseburgers,  but everything else was incredible! Thank you for helping me make my brother's bday wish come true. C: 

Great Experience

11/03/2023: My first day pass resort booking online. Quite easy to navigate and find near by locations for resorts of your choice. Location at Hayes was the most peacefully get away Ive had with really not getting away at all. Im still here but, the scenery was so relaxing. Pool area kept maintained for cleanses and new fresh towels and front desk was quite nice. All staff and other guest were friendly, and courteous during my visit. I had traveled here alone, and using my own personal transportation. I had made reservation intended for a safe spot to park relax and get some breathing me alone time. I work and live in San Jose, Ca. But my home appartment I had not been back home fully using since 08/11/2023. Id prefer being at home but, there had been interruption due to servicing that was not requested. Id prefer being back home and had priorly thought of the place more of a home location area vs work. But, I was able to find locate Hayes and I am very impressed. Christina 6692008885

Hayes Resort San Jose Day Pass

The pool was very small and not enough seats for both guests and people with resort pass. There was no poolside drink or food service. A lot of kids, expect that when you go.
