Poolside Cabana

Perfect city oasis, Cabana easily sat 4 adults with plenty of room to relax. The pool is perfect size for chilling or wading. Service was quick and capable, attendant checked in with us often. The food from Arriba Abajo was top notch, I’ve never had sick flavorful rice and beans! (Get the fish tacos). NA drink menu was thoughtful and those drinks were delicious. We will return on our next trip. The lobby of the Thompson hotel had an off-putting smell.

Poolside Daybed

Pool was smaller than expected. cabana itself was not very spacious, felt like we were ontop of our neighbors. service ok, food was less than ideal. was not worth the money spent for this one for us.

Service is always underwhelming, probably because gratuity is already included in all checks

Happy Hour Pool Pass

Atmosphere was great and staff was nice. Only thing is that it should have said on the website that pool service, booze and food was shut off at 5:30. So we had to go ourselves to the bar to get those things for 3. 5 hours of the 4 we were there. This happened because it was Labor Day when we were there. Imagine anyone would want that on a summer holiday.

Day Pass

I really enjoyed my experience at the hotel pool overall. The loungers are comfortable and good quality, although they are placed quite close together, so the area can feel a little crowded. Ordering drinks by the pool is also somewhat confusing and could be better organized. That said, the food and drinks from the restaurant were outstanding and definitely one of the highlights of the experience. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was security. Despite having a security person present and requiring reservations or hotel guest access to enter the pool area, my belongings were stolen. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of assistance afterward. I received virtually no help from the hotel staff or reception. I was simply told that I could go inside and look for the items myself. Given the controlled access to the pool area and the presence of security, I expected the hotel to take the incident much more seriously and provide at least some support. Overall, I enjoyed the pool and the food and drinks were excellent, but the way the theft was handled significantly affected my experience and is something the hotel should seriously address.

Poolside Daybed

Great drink service (highly recommend the margarita pitchers) and the pool was super refreshing. Nice bathrooms right off the pool. Food took a little long to come out, but otherwise, would definitely come here again!

Sundeck Daybed

We planned a grown up girls play date at The Thompson. The goal was to have an endless flow of food and cocktails by the pool served by someone else so we could get to all the catchup items uninterrupted. What a disappointment! The Sundeck Daybed was the first disappointment and now I know why there are no pictures of it online. This section is off to the side in what seems like the "forgotten" space. We had to hunt down the service multiple times (even for water/ice) because 1) this area is off from the pool and 2) they were severely understaffed for a Saturday. The service was terrible, the food was "ok", and the frozen margarita machine was broken on a 100 degree day in Texas. The price for the Sundeck Day bed was $217 after tax from 11a-6p. We didnt stay the full time for all of the reasons of above. OH and valet is $45-$70 so please be advised. Not worth the money and would not recommend.

Sundeck Daybed

Such a disappointing experience. Beginning with the service, which was pretty much nonexistent. I had to constantly ask for someone to come by and help. Second, the food it was absolutely awful. They should be embarrassed to serve the food that they’re serving. The waitress said that it was a new menu, which is sad. I ordered the nachos which came on a small side plate with hardly anything on them. They were dry as a bone, and the queso came with chimichurri sauce on top, which just tasted disgusting. Lastly, the cost of drinks. $26 for a small double Tito’s and water. I will never go back there. Such a disappointment when so much was spent to rent a day bed.
