Day Pass

You have to go to first floor to order. Other than that it's one of the best views you can get. Has variety of seating

Daybed

First time at Desert 5, small pool but good vibes, paid for two day beds and was shocked to find that there were only about 3 actual beds and then some couches. Made sure to grab the double day beds. Was disappointed that there was no bar up on top and had to go up and down to get drinks, and that there was no staff up on the rooftop taking orders. Other paces have a full service and offer food and drinks. For the process off 100 per bed one would think service would be available.

Daybed

Went here between lunch at Monsieur Marcel (Farmer’s Market) and Hollywood Bowl on a Friday afternoon. Was perfect, except wife then wanted a room, which we did using points. I guess didn’t need the pass…

Daybed

This location was really beautiful. The space is a little small but people were rotating out and in and out throughout the day. I bought a day bed but it didn’t have a reserved sign. Plenty of towels! A serve only came up 1 time to check on us that’s when we learned there’s no food from 2pm-5/6pm. We were pretty bummed about that! Super chill though it’s worth a good time

Daybed

Rooftop is really cute and wasn't too crowded. We got there at 11a and were easily able to snag chairs and an umbrella, but it did get busy later in the afternoon. Chairs were super plush and big beach towels were provided. We reserved a daybed but ended up just using two recliners since there were plenty available. The pool was a decent size - only 3 feet deep but that's typical for rooftops. Amazing view of the city!! The only disappointment was the food/drink service. The roof bar doesn't open until 6p and when we first got there, there were no signs of food or drink at all. We called down to the front desk and were even told food and drinks were not allowed at the pool and if we wanted to eat we had to go downstairs, which was a major bummer. BUT around noon someone came up and gave us a QR code to order from the cafe in the lobby, and apologized for her colleague who apparently had outdated info. Selections were very limited though. The only not pre-made thing available to order was shrimp tacos (it said there was a quesadilla but when we tried to order it said unavailable), which is a shame because their attached restaurant Ka'teen is delicious. Otherwise it was mostly pastries, a couple breakfast items and two pre-made sandwich boxes (one chicken and one veggie if I remember). It would be great for them to add a few more simple things, even just chips & guac would be amazing. The only drinks available to order from the menu were canned - beers and High Noon's, however when the server came up to deliver our food he did say he could make anything from the bar and we were able to order margaritas. He was working in the cafe and said he'd come up every 40 min, which he did a couple times but then it was 2-3 hours before we saw him again. It would be great for them to have a full time server for the pool, at least for the busy season - and they definitely cocktail list! Again especially because they have such fun drinks at their roof bar and restaurant. Maybe they could consider opening the roof bar early for the summer - that would honestly make it a 10/10! The other annoying thing was they didn't give us a key card. They let us up the elevator, but then we had to awkwardly wait around for someone to open the gate to the pool. And the bathrooms were on the other side of the gate, so every time you went you had to wait for someone to let you back in. Feels like it should be easy to just give a key card for the day that is only allowed to access the roof. They also had me forward them my confirmation email which seemed a little weird but not a huge deal. Anyway, I think eventually it will be great but seems like they are new to ResortPass so still working out some kinks. Everyone was really nice though and tried to be helpful!
